EricChu:Linear PEGMA coating protocol
Coating PDMS channels with linear PEGMA (polyethylene glycol methyl ether methacrylate)[edit]
1. Prepare monomer solution by diluting PEGMA monomers 5% (wt%) in DI water with 0.1% VA-086. Note: 5% was too viscous for small channels. You may lower the monomer concentration down to 1%, depending on the size of PEG. VA-086 concentration should not be changed.
2. Incubate the PDMS channels with 10% DMPA (2,2-Dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone) in acetone for 10min
3. Dry the channels with air
4. Push the monomer solution into the channels
5. Seal the inlets/outlets with tapes to prevent evaporation. Note: I used the CHR Pressure Sensitive Tapes
6. UV the entire device for 10min in the UV crosslinker. Note: You may reduce the time significantly
7. Empty the channels with DI water or buffer of your choice. Note: If desired, rinse channel with DI water followed with acetonitrile.
8. Dry the channels with air, and the device is ready for use
