Microfluidic Devices for Combo-Lock[edit]
This page details the microfluidic devices used for the Combo-lock project. I have tried to include specifications whenever possible.
Drop Seq Device[edit]
Some specs for the Drop Seq device from the Macosko et al 2013 paper. Below is an image of a single device. A chip contains several dozen of these devices.
- Drop Seq Device.png
Device inlets and outlets. As can be seen, 4 lines are used, 3 inlets and an outlet. Two of the inlets are aqueous, the third is oil for droplet formation.
- DropSeqDevice Junctions.png
Drop seq device junctions. The first junction combines the two aqueous solutions; in the original paper this combines a cell solution with beads in a lysis buffer solution. See Combo-Lock protocols for further details. The second junction combines the mixed aqueous phases with the oil phase, forming droplets. Note the post-mixing grooves to facilitate mixing.
